Can PFM be done in liquid?
  • How can stray currents be eliminated when doing PFM in liquid? One could produce an insulated cantilever-tip with a small metallic end. Or one can operate at high frequency... but I am not convinced that a field can be sustained in that case.

    How do you do it?
  • High frequency helps (electrochemistry and diffusion are slow).
Insulated tips is a good solution, but they are not commercially avauilable to my knowldge [there was work in ORNL-UT, Stanford, Harvard, LBL on parallel tracks to make them].

There is also company called Nauga Needles that makes something like this
